Better Plugin Compatibility Control

Better Plugin Compatibility Control

wpseek

Better Plugin Compatibility Control makes it easy for the blog administrator to check compatibility of all installed plugins. The plugin adds version compatibility info to the plugins page to inform the admin at a glance if a plugin is compatible with the current WP version. Until now you had to look it up on the respective plugin page. It’s now up to the admin wether to deactivate a non-compatible plugin or not.

Easy to install. Makes plug-in page much more informative.

By eei on March 25, 2023

I installed it an immediately saw plug-ins that were not being supported by their authors by the listed versions under the plug-in names. It immediately helped me to know which plug-ins might be causing me issues now and which are likely to cause me issues in the near future - because they're no longer being updated by their authors to the newer versions of WordPress.

Very helpful

Thank you for this plugin!

Easy to use, but sometimes displays incorrect version info

By Deborah Edwards-Onoro (redcrew) on December 5, 2018

Does what is says, displays the WordPress version compatibility for each plugin on your site. It's easy to view the version info. However, there are some instances when and older WordPress version is displayed, even though the plugin is compatible with the most current version of WordPress. When you notice a plugin has an older WordPress version displayed, select the "View Details" option for each plugin to confirm the info with the repository.

Not accurate...

By crzyhrse on August 14, 2017

Not accurate in a lot of cases, checks readme files, not WordPress Depository... What's the point if the info cannot be trusted to be accurate...

Thank you 🎐

Needs to have less bugs in Query Monitor plugin for me to be able to let it up all day, but it's a must have plugin. No problem in letting it ON.

Great idea but not completely reliable

By Martin Sauter (martin.sauter) on March 6, 2017

The version information provided by this plug-in does not always match the information you get from the repository. And even if a plug-in does not officially support your WordPress version it might still work fine. So use "Better Plugin Compatibility Control" with care and common sense.

time saved

This plugin saved me a lot of work!

25% of my plugins giving wrong information

By Doug M (NES - Native English Services) on September 3, 2016

I waited until just now to update from 4.4.3 to 4.5.2.

The reason I waited is because this plugin told me that 8 or 10 plugins were not up to date.

I decided to reach out to the devs and ask why their plugins weren't updated. Come to find out, all but 1 had been updated to 4.5.2.

Don't ask what the plugins were. I don't know and at this point don't care.
I also know I don't trust this plugin.

It is what I was looking for

By Pietro (PatM2G) on September 3, 2016

Instead of to check manually what is the last release of WP that the plugin's author had checked, they are already listed in plugin directory. Wonderful.
Only a thing can be better: if I can insert the WP release I want to install and the red colour appears in relation to that one instead of the present one.

Very good!
